Up and Down and Up Again

Last week I was a bit nervous because I wasn't yet able to to reach one of my important goals for this year: 1 show a month/12 shows for the year.

With 2018 quickly coming to an end I wasn't sure if it would happen, but after reaching out to a few venues, I am excited to say that not only I succeeded but for also for those who like numbers, my 12th show is on December 12th (12/12)!

Now that this is settled, I can focus on next years' prospects and projects in order, put a band together, recording music, get more gigs and write more music.

It can be nerve wrecking at time to have to plan all of this and one of the ways I am able to get back on track:

1. Take a Step Back

So you can look all that you have accomplished so far this year and see the bigger picture. Take a piece of paper and write down all you have accomplished. What I have been doing lately is to keep track of all I am doing and review it whenever I feel a bit down so i can be cheered up!

2. Talk It Out With Friends

It is important to have be able to let it out and bounce up ideas with supportive friends whenever you are frustrated. They can bring you a different perspective and give you ideas you haven't thought about just yet

3. Take a Break

Sometimes when we are too self centered we can have a hard time with the events that are going on in our lives. My favorite thing to do to "get out of my head" is to go for a walk by the river or at the park, get into a new book, go for a run... anything that is unrelated to music really - find your own thing that makes you feel good and focus on other things
